Indiana has landed its second commit on Wednesday afternoon, from West Virginia guard Tucker DeVries, the son of Indiana head coach Darian DeVries, per a report from On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos.
DeVries averaged a total of 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in his eight games played with the Mountaineers — that was until he suffered a shoulder injury and elected to get surgery, sidelining him for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Prior to his injury, DeVries stood as WVU’s leading scorer and shot 26-for-55 (47.3%) from deep. The senior also started his collegiate career alongside his father at Drake University.
The 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard follows DePaul transfer Conor Enright as the second commit out of the transfer portal for Indiana. The two are now reunited in Bloomington, as they were teammates in their respective seasons at Drake.
DeVries will be seeking a medical hardship waiver to compete in his fifth and final collegiate season for the Hoosiers.
