With just 18 days until Selection Sunday, here’s another edition of my NCAA Tournament bracket projection with even more changes across the board.
For the second week in a row I have a new team on the one line, and this time it’s Houston that has moved up. Florida was previously the one seed in the west region, but after a recent loss and the Cougars’ continued surge, it's UH that gets the top spot in the west.
As for other changes on the one line, Duke and Alabama have flipped with the Blue Devils now holding the No. 2 overall seed in the top right quadrant of the bracket, but both squads keep their locations in the East and Midwest regions respectively.
Moving further down the bracket, Iowa State has dropped to a three after taking two losses last week, while Michigan State is back up to a two seed after its huge win over Michigan on Friday night.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Purdue is down all the way to the five line after its now four-game losing streak, while Indiana is back into the field after defeating the Boilermakers on Sunday.
Similarly, Georgia is back in after a rivalry win against Florida in the same game that dropped Florida down to a two seed. The SEC is up to 13 bids, plus a potential for 14 with Texas currently in the first four out.
Other impactful results over the past week included Oregon beating Wisconsin on the road, Tennessee defeating Texas A&M in their building, Clemson knocking SMU out of the field with a road victory, Alabama taking care of Kentucky at home and Duke destroying Illinois by 43 at MSG.
Because of all these exciting matchups over the past seven days, we were bound to see changes to the bracket, but I’m sure there will be more down the stretch, as March is drawing nearer by the day.
