NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Bracketology: Colin McMahon’s bracket projection (Dec. 2)

Feast Week upsets begin the bracketology season in chaotic fashion

We’re only four weeks into the regular season, but it’s never too early to start thinking about  what the bracket may look like in March.

After a couple of not-so-great weeks of college basketball, Feast Week didn’t disappoint, as several top teams took losses, really shaking up how things look all around the country. Most notably, UConn took three straight defeats in Maui, dropping it significantly. On the flip side, Auburn won the Maui Invitational, jumping it all the way on the one line.

Teams like Pitt, Oregon and Memphis have all risen after great performances during Feast Week, while teams like Arizona, Indiana and Xavier find themselves all the way out of the field after some disappointing showings recently.

The SEC leads with 12 bids, even with teams like Arkansas and Ole Miss taking losses to Big Ten teams last weekend, but with teams like Florida and Mississippi State impressing, the league looks incredibly impressive.

My projections will certainly change, and change quickly, as there are even more marquee matchups this week but, for now, here is the first edition of my 2025 NCAA Tournament bracket projection.
